George Rodman is Professor and Emeritus Chair of the Department of Television and Radio at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, where he has taught since 1978. Rodman’s research focuses on listening as an essential component of interpersonal, public and mass communication, most notably in his books, including 14 editions of Understanding Human Communication (with Ron Adler, Oxford University Press), two editions of Communication Essentials (with Ron Adler and Athena DuPre, Oxford University Press), 4 editions of Mass Media Issues(McGraw-Hill), and several books on public speaking.
